SUMMARY:Personal Care Worker (DSP) Training Course
DESCRIPTION:This comprehensive 14-hour\, 2-day course covers a wide range of topics essential for effective\, quality resident care.  Students will gain valuable knowledge and skills in areas including: \n\nEffective hand hygiene\nAssessing residents\nManaging resistance to cares\nVerbal and nonverbal communication\nUnderstanding traumatic brain injury\, developmental disabilities\, and seizures\nChecking\, assessing\, and interpreting vital signs\nRecognizing and addressing conditions like schizophrenia and sleep disturbances\nAssisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)\nTransfers\, elimination\, and mechanical lift use\nConducting skin and falls assessments\n\nThis interactive class is held in person in a welcoming\, hands-on learning environment\, where participants will receive high-quality\, affordable training that meets state regulations. \nThe course is led by a certified\, experienced Nurse Educator\, ensuring that students receive expert instruction throughout the program. \nThis course is open to individuals across Wisconsin. Employers are also encouraged to register their employees for this vital training.
